spooky in Japan = ?

Spooky folks doing spooky things.

That’s what some say where the yokai beasts and spirits come from in Japanese folklore.

Just a bunch of weird people doing unexplainable things.

Boom. You’re deemed a “yokai” from another world.

I’d probably be called a yokai back in the day based on that assumption.

But other stories are more sinister and real…

They talk about traveling in the mountains at night and getting stopped on the road by orges.

Women turning to demons from jealousy.

And strange river lizards that eat human children to snack.

Many of these stories coincide with the supernatural characters on the Noh Theater stage.

This 600-year old art was designated an intangible piece of cultural heritage by UNESCO.

And it’s one of my favorite things about Japan.

The depth, the movement, and of course, the masks.

Which is why I decided to combine the two into a fantasy novel with thriller and romance vibes.

The clash of two supernatural beasts and an international romance between them.

Trust. There’s no inter-species romance going on…although I DID think about it.

You’d be surprised how popular that genre is!

Anyway, if you’re a fan of weird fantasy books, then hit the link below for my Kickstarter.

It’s over 200% funded and ends in less than 43 hours.

Once it gets to 300% funded, I’ll add another bonus for all backers as a stretch goal.

Talk soon,
