re-do.

"To make something good, just do it. To make something great, just re-do it, re-do it, re-do it. The secret to making fine things is in remaking them."

- Kevin Kelly, Founder of Wired Magazine

I have this quote saved in my notes app.

It’s a strong reminder that great work isn’t made overnight.

It’s a sentiment that I find common among Japanese artisans across the country.

They all dedicated years of their lives to one skill.

Although you need a myriad of skills to survive in today’s world (especially with AI coming), I highly respect the dedication to one thing.

For me that’s storytelling.

Through books and video.

My ultimate goal is to turn my books into films.

But for now, I will focus on making my books the best they can be.

Which is part of the reason why I re-released Yokai Shadows with extra story and all-new art between each chapter.

This allows me to hone the story of Yuki and Kwame over time. Revisiting their journey through yokai land…in their war against the Kappa…and her threat to Noh Theater and human creativity overall.

The Kickstarter campaign for that is now at 164% funded.

You can join the 9 other readers from around the world (a Belgian backed today), and bring this book to life.

At 420% backed, I share an unreleased video series around Japan.
