where to run?

Plus: New art drop

I went out yesterday with some friends for drinks at my favorite bar in Fukuoka.

It’s a members-only sake bar run by beautiful women in kimonos.

Perfect atmosphere to talk about…crypto, right?

Not really, but that’s what came up.

So the convo was flowing and my friends mentioned the volatility of crypto.

It’s true.

Alternative assets like crypto are like riding a rollercoaster through the fiery depths of hell while tripping on 7gs of shrooms.

I know, because I’ve been on this ride since 2014.

That’s the year I bought my first Bitcoin.

It was like $400-ish around that time.

Annndd I sold it later for a one-way ticket to Japan.

Some will say this is stupid.

I say…yes and no.

Because what’s the point of sitting on money you don’t need to survive or for peace of mind?

For me, it’s to buy experiences.

That’s the point of money.

Which is really just a way to exchange value.

And Bitcoin is a new way to do this without banks and other people looking for a cut.

Speaking of banks, Silicon Valley Bank just went under.

Still a lot of info to come out…but the glaring thing with a collapse of the 18th largest bank in the US is…

Your money isn’t 100% safe with banks.

Most of the time, your money isn’t even in your account.

So what can you do with your funds to maintain value?

To prevent it from inflating away into the sky?

To prevent the banks from shrugging their shoulders when you go to withdraw?

I say, art.

It’s one of the most trusted assets in the world across generations.

And I’m not talking random splats of paint on canvas (some of which are actually good).

I’m talking traditional-battle-tested-by-time-masterfully-crafted art.

And I got it.

Japan is full of this type of art.

It’s just that not everyone knows about it.

So I want to bring it to more people through crypto.

Enter: Bitcoin Auction.

If you got bitcoin and want Japanese art, check out my auction starting this Sunday for the piece of art below:

It’s a Satsuma Pottery cup that has 400 years of history behind it.

And it comes with a digital art piece:

More details on the auction coming soon!

Peace,
